Lead Based Paint

Lead Based Paint (LBP) is a highly toxic substance and is strictly regulated by several government agencies including OSHA. Exposure to lead can cause a number of different health issues including: nausea, anemia, kidney damage, and brain damage. But, at AES we have the experience to protect your employees from these dangers. AES is an LDEQ licensed lead contractor with over 20 years of experience in the industry.

Foremost, OSHA defines Lead Based Paint (LBP) as any coating which contains at least 0.1% lead. Therefore, when removing this hazardous material there are certain OSHA regulations that need to be followed.  One of those requirements is Air Quality (OSHA) Monitoring. Fortunately, our highly trained Industrial Hygiene Technicians (IH Tech) can provide this service for you.

Not sure if you are dealing with Lead Based Paint, AES can help you find out. Our IH Technicians have years of experience in LBP Inspections. Also, all LBP samples collected by AES are analyzed using the industry accepted method of Flame Atomic Absorption (Flame AA). Additionally, our LBP samples are analyzed through a laboratory which is certified through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as well as the Louisiana Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (LELAP).

Aside from sampling, AES is also a certified lead contractor and can take on lead remediation projects. Furthermore, an SSPC trained C3 Competent Person plans or directly oversees all AES lead projects . Lead Safe Certified Firm

AES, a company with over 20 years of experience in the asbestos industry, is now offering LDEQ and AHERA certified asbestos training. Certified training is required for all asbestos professionals under the Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan (MAP). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established MAP as part of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA).

For more than ten years now, the AES training institute has provided the highest quality of asbestos training. AES conducts these courses according to the LAC 33: III, Chapter 27, Appendix A requirements. To begin with, AES offers certified Asbestos Worker training. LDEQ and OSHA mandate that all employees who work with or remove asbestos must receive this training course.

Then there is the Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor course which is required for any asbestos professional who oversees an asbestos abatement project. The Contractor/Supervisor License also allows the holder to conduct Air Quality (OSHA) Monitoring.

In addition, AES trains Asbestos Inspectors. The Inspector license is necessary for any person who will perform inspections or surveys which focus on Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM). Surveys include the identification, collection, and transportation of suspected asbestos bulk samples.

AES also offers training for Asbestos Management Planners.  Asbestos professionals who will review the asbestos management plans for a school or state building require this license. LDEQ regulations state that management plan reviews are to be performed once every 3 years.

Finally, AES can provide LDEQ mandated Asbestos Designated Person training and Custodial Awareness training for all school system employees throughout the state.

At AES, we can handle small or large classes in our updated training classroom, located at our office in Baton Rouge. Our training program is a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and videos. We also provide on-site real world training. This method ensures that our students can perform their duties effectively and professionally. So contact AES and learn how we can help turn your employees into the top asbestos professionals in the business.

Rescue Boat Services

Safety is one of the key values of the petrochemical industry. Throughout the industry, facilities with over-water docks are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of their employees as well as the OSHA Compliance of their sites. And now AES has joined in this effort and is offering Rescue Boat Services throughout the industrial field.

According to OSHA Title 29 CFR 1926.106(d), “At least one lifesaving skiff shall be immediately available at locations where employees are working over or adjacent to water.” OSHA states that this regulation is in effect regardless of other fall protection or drown prevention systems that are in place. AES Rescue is here to help industrial facilities stay in compliance with this regulation.

In addition to possible falls into the water, there are other hazards that AES Rescue accounts for. These hazards include temperature of the water, swiftness of the current, presence of floating debris, as well as other dangers that a person could encounter should they fall into the water.

Furthermore, AES Rescue Boat Services accounts for the condition of employees after a potential fall from an over-water dock. OSHA guidelines state the importance of being able to issue treatment as soon as possible (3 to 4 minutes) after an injury occurs. That is why AES Rescue Personnel are certified in First-Aid and CPR.

A USCG Licensed Captain coordinates all AES Rescue Boat Service operations. Our Rescue Boat Operators are also USCG licensed  or have received extensive training from our licensed captain.

AES Rescue uses Deep-V Hull Aluminum Crew Boats for their high level of reliability and maneuverability. Also, our Rescue Boats have been outfitted with all necessary life-saving equipment.

Whether it’s asbestos, lead or any other hazardous material, Decontamination Units, or “Decons” as they are more commonly known, are an essential part of any abatement project. So let AES make sure you have the right Decon for the job. From rentals and sales to inspections, AES has what you need.

Current OSHA regulations mandate that decontamination is required on any project associated with the handling of hazardous materials. While there are some variations in this regulation based on the type of material being handled, the generally accepted standard is to keep and maintain a decontamination unit on site at any facility where abatement activities will take place. More and more, facilities are turning to mobile Decon trailers to adhere to this standard. That is where AES can help. We have been using mobile Decons trailers for over 20 years. Now, we are offering our years of experience to others.

First of all, AES has a variety of Decon trailers that we can provide for your next abatement project. Whether you are looking for a short term lease or if you want to purchase a Decon trailer, AES has what you are looking for. We can deliver a Decon trailer to your site that has been inspected and prepared for either an asbestos or lead abatement project.

On the other hand, if your project is in more of a commercial setting and you will not need it to remain in place, AES can provide that as well.  We have temporary Decon units, also known as Pop-Up Showers, that we can install at your current job site.

Do you need to make sure your Decon is up to OSHA standards? We can do that as well. AES will inspect your Decon on site and ensure that it meets all the most current guidelines.

So, whatever your Decon needs, find out what AES can do for you.
